This is a fun family event that I wish I could go to....The Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest!
It is Saturday, August 17th from Noon – 5:00 p.m.
The sand sculpting contest will take place on the beach and boardwalk from West 10th to West 12th Streets. Professional Sand Sculptors will be on-site to create amazing sculptures representing Coney Island icons - including the New York Aquarium!
Watch amateur sculptors—both children and adults—from throughout NYC and beyond compete in five categories. Three winners in each category will receive cash prizes. Plus there will be entertainment like a Latin band, and several dance groups!
Of course there will be FREE stuff too: Along the boardwalk, local organizations will provide informational materials and giveaways.
Visit the Coney Island Fun Guide to learn more. Sign up FREE for the event here.
This event is hosted by Astella Development Corp. and the Alliance for Coney Island.

Thank you for the great comments, I always appreciate them. This is a family blog, and some folks seem to forget that so I had to ad word verification to keep spam at bay and moderate all comments to remove adult content that is unwelcome on my blog. Thanks for your understanding.
