The give away is closed. Congratulations Couponscoop!
I mentioned a few days ago that I was going to host a giveaway soon, and the day has finally come!
I am pleased to announce that I am hosting a giveaway and one lucky reader will receive a $40 gift certificate to CSN stores. They have really cool stuff, and FREE is FREE right?
As per usual my giveaway is not complicated, and is so simple to enter.
1. CLICK HERE and go over to the Dutch Oven , cookware section at CSN stores and check it out. Click around if you wish, then come back here and tell me what you love from their lists of products. (It does not have to be a Dutch Oven, it can be anything they offer.)
That is it leave a comment about what you would like from CSN Stores and that is all.
2.If you want an extra entry in a separate post list a recipe that uses a Dutch Oven, because I love to cook. And we eat really good at my house! LOL!
The contest starts today (8-12-2010) and ends on 8-23-2010 at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. If you live outside the US there maybe extra shipping charges for you order.
Two entries per person any extras will be voided.
I just love FREE! Who doesn't?
Good Luck!
I have been eyeing the Rachel Ray cookware for oh soooo long! mjjaegly@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteYou can use a Dutch oven for beef stew. Simply cube beef, season and roll in four. Brown your meat. Cover with water and add the hard veges first carrots, celery etc. Let simmer, but add raw potatoes in about 1 1/2 hr I add a can of corn and greenbeans too! Simmer another 1/2hr. Too thin? add moe flour, too thick? add more water! mjjaegly@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThis is the first blog contest that i have entered, so thanks. I had never heard of the csn site. they have some cool stuff. i don't have a dutch oven, so thats mostly what i was looking at. i would love to get one and didnt know there was so much variety.
ReplyDeleteCNS has such a great variety. Away from the dutch oven site I really like the stainless steel french press. I love dutch ovens to begin cooking on the stove and finishing in the oven.

My favorite thing made in a Dutch oven is Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. Put a little bit of melted butter in the bottom of your Dutch Oven, sprinkle some brown sugar over, and then put a whole can of (drained) pineapple chunks or slices on top of the brown sugar. Mix up a yellow cake mix (from the box works fine, or you can do your own from scratch) and pour over the pineapple-sugar mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. *This recipe is SO good!*

Cuisineware Gold 3 Piece Canister - I really like the Cuisineware items. Love the gold/yellow color on this set.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest tho, I would continue accruing my GC (I have 1 for $40 from doing a review for CSN) for Christmas gifts - My hours got cut way back this year and I'm going to need all the help I can get!
Just so you know your "dutch oven" link and the "click here" links didn't work - the 3rd one did tho (says CSN Stores).
Thanks! Tina

A favorite recipe to cook in our Dutch Oven is Back Bay Clam Chowder.
ReplyDeleteSaute 1 onion chopped & 1 clove garlic minced in 2 teaspoons butter until clear. Blend in 2 tablespoons flour, whisk in 3 cups clam juice. Add 2 large diced potatoes. Simmer until potatoes are tender. Process half the liquid and potatoes in blender, then return to pot. Add 2 cups skim milk blended with 1 cup nonfat powdered milk, 2 cups steamed, shucked and chopped clams and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Gently simmer to heat (do not boil). Serve with whole grain or oyster crackers.
Oh man. Now I'm hungry!
I'd love an ice cream maker (like the Cuisinart one!)
